FAQs
Where are your products made?
All our products are made in Bristol, UK. We are proud to be a British skincare brand.
Are your products made by hand?
Yes! All the products are lovingly made in small batches by Emily.
Do you use natural ingredients?
Yes! We use 100% natural ingredients in all our formulations. When we say 'natural ingredients', we mean ingredients harnessed directly from plants or minerals, rather than synthetic or man-made ones.
Do you use organic ingredients?
Yes! We love organic ingredients & always source them from Soil Association approved suppliers. We can't always use 100% organic ingredients as some of the natural minerals & extracts we use cannot be 'grown' organically (such as mica & vitamin E). However, we always use majority organic ingredients & outline this percentage on every product.
Are your products vegan?
All of our facial & body oils are vegan. However, our balms are not classified as vegan due to the inclusion of beeswax.
We opt for beeswax over other waxes because as a byproduct & when sourced locally, it has a much smaller carbon footprint than the alternatives. We think it is important to support local ‘beecentric’ beekeepers, that care for their bees and the local environment. Plus, it’s wonderfully healing, naturally antibacterial, & creates a protective barrier on the skin.
Are your products safe?
Yes! Our products have all been through CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) testing, which is a requirement to sell cosmetics within the EU.
If you have sensitive skin, a patch test is always recommended 24 hours prior to use.
Where do you source your ingredients and materials?
We source our ingredients as locally as possible & always make sure everything is ethically farmed & from reputable sources. We also forage & hand-pick some of the ingredients ourselves.
Can I recycle the packaging?
We use 100% recyclable glass, plastic & aluminium packaging. We also use 100% recyclable postal boxes, packing filler & product cards. However, our product labels are not currently recyclable so please do remove them and separate all materials before recycling.
If you buy a facial oil, when you're finished we encourage you to keep hold of your dropper cap & reorder a bottle with a refill cap - you can then screw on your original dropper cap and reuse it again & again.
Are you a 'sustainable' business?
We're doing our best to give back to nature. You can read more about our sustainability initiatives here.
Do you test on animals?
No. Our products have undergone testing on the humans who will be using them.
Do your products contain preservatives?
We use 100% natural ingredients like vitamin E to preserve the freshness of our products. We never use sulphates, parabens or unnatural preservatives.
How long will my products last?
We have a 12 month shelf life on most of our products, simply check the little jar icon on the label to see how long it keeps for. As with most things, the sooner you use it the better your experience will be!
What is mica?
Mica is a naturally produced, non-toxic mineral that gives off a shimmery and metallic-like appearance (we use it in our glow oil). Our mica is 100% vegan-friendly, 100% cruelty-free, 100% ethically sourced, 100% pure colour & 100% cosmetic grade.
Why use oils?
Botanical plant oils make a wonderful addition to your daily skincare regime. They’re brilliant moisturisers packed with nutrients. They do wonders for your skin cell health, & control the levels of sebum your skin produces. With consistent use, you’ll notice a significant improvement in your skin's texture and tone.
Are the oils suitable for oily skin?
Short answer - yes!
Many people are wary about putting oils on their face, especially those who suffer from acne & have long been using products labelled ‘oil-free’. The truth is, keeping the oil production of our skin balanced is essential for facial skin health. The reason our skin becomes oily in the first place is usually because it is deficient in oil, & so it goes into overdrive trying to produce more. Using light & non clogging facial oils daily can really help stop this vicious cycle.
Using the recommended amount - 3-4 drops on a damp face - the oils will sink in within 5 minutes & leave you looking healthy and not shiny.
For oily skin types we recommend using either our Balance facial oil or our Clarify facial oil.
Are the products fragranced?
Only naturally! There is no 'parfum' in our blends. Parfum or fragrance in mainstream skincare is generally what irritates sensitive skin. We take pride in our layered essential oil blends, giving each oil not only a distinctive scent, but more importantly a mix of active aromatherapy benefits that help you & your skin feel amazing.
Essential oils will only ever make up approximately 1% of our product blends - always well within IFRA standards. Used in these small amounts, they are very unlikely to cause irritation and the citrus oils will not photo-sensitise.
Will you be releasing any new products?
Yes! We have lots of plans for new products. Currently we are perfecting a cleanser formulation which we're very excited about!
Keep you eyes peeled for the release of our seasonal Flourish products too. We will have new hand foraged products landing in spring, summer, autumn & winter.
